FutureMakers develops new types of out-of-school-time learning experiences for young makers between the ages of 6 and 15. FutureMakers has opportunities for exceptional coaches - makers who teach, and teachers who make. You are educators, creators, designers, tinkerers, technologists, artists – who invent awesome learning experiences for young makers. FutureMakers bridges the applied learning gap in elementary and middle schools in Washington D.C. We believe kids make things better.

You are both responsible for dreaming up and supporting a common workshop plan. Together, you will plan, instruct, and assess your project's progress. On site, you report to our partner site manager. Instructional teams encouraged to apply!
We develop programs that take place in community centers, libraries, schools and private homes. The majority of our programs take place in the after-school hours of 3:00 - 7:00 PM, but some take place outside of those hours, or on weekend days. Schedules are planned and discussed in advance, and are fixed.
Part-time; 15-20 hours per week.
$20 - $25 / hr. per maker, depending on experience. All group planning and professional development time is paid, at $15 / hr.
Our teaching philosophy and approach to experiential learning:
FutureMakers are teachers (coaches) who constantly think about how to make "learning by doing" more effective, and have the ambition to do it. Other than just experience and skills, here’s what we’re looking for in all of our instructors:
